May 28, 2006: Manchester Music Festival Memorial Day Concert
This concert features Ariel Rudiakov on the viola and Joana Genova on the violin in a concert of pieces and sonatas from the Romantic Era. Located at the Riley Center for the Arts.
June 5 and 6, 2006: 1st Annual Orvis Cup Hickory Shaft Pro-Am $10,000 Championship
Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the Orvis Cup, a professional championship contested with period hickory shafts (manufactured prior to 1936). Coinciding with an exhibit and trade show presented by the Golf Collectors Society, the tournament will take place at the Gleneagles golf course at the Equinox Resort and Spa.
June 10 and 11, 2006: 20th Annual Hildene Antique and Classic Car Show
Featuring a poker run, a parade, an extensive flea market, and an antique car corral, the Hildene show is sure to be a entertaining weekend for car buffs and amateurs alike!
June 16-18, 2006: Ethan Allen Days
Located at Hildene, the historic home of Robert Todd Lincoln, this three-day event features Revolutionary War re-enactors and entertainment. Friday night attend the dinner and contra dance; Saturday and Sunday, stroll through Revolutionary War encampments. Tickets/reservations required.
July 1-3, 2006: Stratton Mountain Village Bluegrass Festival and Fourth of July Celebration
Music in the Village all afternoon and evening, beer gardens, BBQs, roving entertainers, craft vendors, fireworks and more!
July 4, 2006: Manchester/Dorset Old Fashioned 4th
Manchester's Fourth of July celebration begins at 9am and features activities throughout the day. The pool opens at 11am and the day is ended with evening fireworks. Located at Memorial Park in Manchester.
July 12 - August 13, 2006: Vermont Summer Festival Horse Show
North New England's largest “A3” rated hunter/jumper show. Top riders throughout the U.S. and Canada compete for prizes and points toward national recognition.
July 15-16, 2006: Stratton Mountain Annual Family Festival (link)
Featuring the ever-popular Teddy Bear Parade a visit from the Flag Acres Petting Zoo, and family-friendly music and activities on the Village Square. New for this year: "Wheel of Fortune!" on Saturday afternoon.
July 15-16, 2006: SolarFest
This New England Renewable Energy Festival features world music and family performances on solar powered stages, along with workshops and exhibitors on renewable energy and sustainable living. Visit one hundred craft and food vendors and energy exhibitors.
July 29-30, 2006 Stratton Mountain Blues, Brews, and BBQs (link)
Come and relax with blues music, beer gardens and BBQs in the Village all weekend long. Don't miss the Cooking Class as the Blue Moon Café on Saturday.
July 30, 2006: Komen Vermont-New Hampshire Race for the Cure
14th annual 5k run or walk to benefit the Vermont-New Hampshire Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
August 4-6, 2006: 28th Annual Southern Vermont Art and Craft Festival
180 artists and artisans present their finest original works at this festival. Located at Hildene.
August 5-6, 2006: Stratton Mountain All That Jazz Festival
Featuring jazz on the Village Stage, Fondue at the Blue Moon Café and an evening wine lecture and tasting.
August 6-11, 2006 11th Annual New England Adventure Summer Bicycle Tour
This six day bicycle tour highlights the rolling and mountainous hills of Vermont and New Hampshire with 180+ miles of bike riding.
August 12- 13, 2006: Norman's Attic Arlington Town Wide Tag Sale
Residents, local organizations, antique, and tag sale vendors and craters promote their wares on the streets of Arlington and the Historic Route 7A corridor.
